چکیده

QCD finite energy sum rules, together with the latest updated ALEPH data on hadronic decays of the tau-lepton are used in order to determine the vacuum condensates of dimension d = 2 and d = 4. These data are also used to check the validity of the Weinberg sum rules, and to determine the chiral condensates of dimension d = 6 and d = 8, as well as the chiral correlator at zero momentum, proportional to the counter term of the O(p4) Lagrangian of chiral perturbation theory, L̄10. Suitable (pinched) integration kernels are introduced in the sum rules in order to suppress potential quark-hadron duality violations. We find no compelling indications of duality violations in the kinematic region above s ≃ 2.2GeV2 after using pinched integration kernels.

Neural network parametrization of spectral functions from hadronic tau decays and determination of QCD vacuum condensates

The spectral function ρV −A(s) is determined from ALEPH and OPAL data on hadronic tau decays using a neural network parametrization trained to retain the full experimental information on errors, their correlations and chiral sum rules: the DMO sum rule, the first and second Weinberg sum rules and the electromagnetic mass splitting of the pion sum rule. Nonperturbative QCD vacuum condensates can...

Finite energy chiral sum rules in QCD

The saturation of QCD chiral sum rules of the Weinberg-type is analyzed using ALEPH and OPAL experimental data on the difference between vector and axial-vector correlators (V-A). The sum rules exhibit poor saturation up to current energies below the tau-lepton mass. A remarkable improvement is achieved by introducing integral kernels that vanish at the upper limit of integration. The method is...

Chiral sum rules and their phenomenology.

We present an analysis of four sum rules, each based on chiral symmetry and containing the difference ρV(s) − ρA(s) of isovector vector and axialvector spectral functions. Experimental data from tau lepton decay and electron-positron scattering identify the spectral functions over a limited kinematic domain. We summarize the status of the existing database. However, a successful determination o...

Phenomenological analysis of a dimension - two operator in QCD and its impact on α s ( M τ )

Fits to the ARGUS data on hadronic decays of the tau-lepton, which determine the vector and axial-vector spectral functions, are used in order to determine the size of a dimension d = 2 term in the Operator Product Expansion. Constraints from the first Weinberg sum rule (in the chiral limit) are enforced in order to reduce the uncertainty of this determination. Results for the d = 2 operator ar...

Is there evidence for dimension - two corrections in QCD two - point functions ? ∗

The ALEPH data on the (non-strange) vector and axial-vector spectral functions, extracted from tau-lepton decays, is used in order to search for evidence for a dimensiontwo contribution, C2 V,A, to the Operator Product Expansion (other than d = 2 quark mass terms). This is done by means of a dimension-two Finite Energy Sum Rule, which relates QCD to the experimental hadronic information. The av...
